About Us

The S&OP Institutes's mission is to build and validate knowledge in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and the careers of those in the field. It does this by providing education and training resources, coupled with a testing process leading to the designation: Certified in Sales and Operations Planning (CS&OP). This designation demonstrates a strong level of understanding in the field of S&OP.



MEL NELSON, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, CS&OP,
has been an International Consultant/Educator in the field of Supply Chain Management since the early 1980’s.  He has been responsible for the first-hand implementation and utilization process of numerous successful, full business operating systems.  He has taught over 100,000 students ranging from Top Management to the Shop Floor. He has been published in scores of Business Magazines and Journals and authored over 30 educational courses ranging in length from 1 to 7 days. Mel received his degree from MSAC in Los Angeles.  He is certified as a Specialist in Industrial Management (SIM), APICS Certified Fellow in Production & Inventory Management (CFPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) , Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM).  mel@sopinstitute.com




SUE NELSON, CFPIM, CSCP, CS&OP,
has been an International Consultant/Educator in the field of Supply Chain Management since the mid 1990’s. She has been instrumental in the successful implementation of multiple ERP systems. With a degree in Computer Programming, she specializes in Computer Operations and Manufacturing & Inventory management as well as Sales, Marketing and Distribution. She has presented at International Conferences, multiple professional society dinner meetings, and numerous universities. She is APICS Certified Fellow in Production & Inventory Management (CFPIM) and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).

TOM WALLACE, CS&OP,
 is a writer and educator specializing in Sales and Operations Planning and a Distinguished Fellow of The Ohio State University's Center for Operational Excellence. He is author/co-author of over a dozen books, including Sales and Operations Planning: The Executive's Guide, Building to Customer Demand, Sales and Operations Planning: The Self-Audit Workbook, Sales and Operations Planning; The How To Handbook, 3rd Ed., Sales Forecasting: A New Approach, Master Scheduling in the 21st Century, and Sales and Operations Planning: Beyond The Basics.  Tom's books have been translated into Chinese, Korean, Italian, Russian, Thai, Portuguese (Brazil), and French. He has developed and taught executives, managers and specialists in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, U.K., France, Belgium, China, Australia and New Zealand.
